On the way towards an 8,000 m high peak
Client: Valter Perlino, mountain climber.
Technique: Digital Multi-image on Wings Platinum.
Event: Storytelling through images, music and text of the solo
climb of Cho Oyu (8,201 m).
In front of the Goddess of Turquoise - the Tibetan name of the mountain in honor to the divinity which lives on its top -
drawn up with humbleness and respect, trampling, inch by inch, the snow area.
A lonely climb to the Cho Oyu (8201 m) and, in the meanwhile, an interior walk...on the paths of Buddhist Himalaya.
… from the text of the projection
A climb to a ”normal”even if to 8000 m, can make people who think it is something within everybody's grin smile.
Surely it is not part of the exploits of modern alpinism..
What is sure, is that we have cried for a long time ...for happiness.
There are several 8000 m climbs, one for every person who climbs.
“My”Cho Oyu è has been a pilgrimage, a paying homage to the Goddess of Turquoise,
a tribute to the traditional feeling of Tibetan Nepalese people who think that this mountain is the house of Gods.
“My”Cho Oyu has been the continuation of a travel that, step by step, approached me to the to Himalayan world.
“My”Cho Oyu has been a contribution to knowledge and support to Buddhist culture and of its people,
involving myself in the support and the respect of the basic politic, social and religious rights of these people.
“My”Cho Oyu has been a useful inner walk…a walk, not a conquest.
